Gamie
The story of Gamie, the mother of all games.
Made for Go Godot Jam 3 about the evolution of video games.
Browser: I recommend using Chrome (or Brave). Firefox works but sometimes the sound is a bit desynchronized.
Accessibility Features: Left- and right-handed controls, mouse sensitivity can be adjusted, large font size, high-contrast text.
I made everything myself during the jam period, except:
- The music is Creative Commons 4.0 by Scott Buckley (https://www.scottbuckley.com.au/). Song titles are "Castles in the Sky", "Life In Silico" and "Bring Me The Sky".
- Sound effects are royalty-free (CC0) from freesound.org and pixabay.com
- Level 3 uses some public domain (CC0) textures and a sprite from opengameart.org. The wood texture is also from there (CC0). The remaining art in level 3 I made myself for this jam (display, first-person gun, powerup, enemies, small switches).
- I made all of the 3D assets in level 4 myself, but reused some of the models from a prior jam
- To make some of the storybook drawings, I started with public domain photos from unsplash.com
